Anything related to boxing? According to the news traffic will be real bad out in Oregon and now Minnesota is having some challenges. Try to stay cool, keep dry and have fun. Oh yeah, as Mark Pepe says - Just get out there and box!

Don't bother H&H, It's just you and me kid. Don't you hear the
crickets chirping? Every long weekend it's just me and the crickets,
everyone else is on the road headed for something fun and I'm left
here at work with no one to play with. I hear that route 70 here in MD
is bumper to bumper for about 48 miles. Guess where I'm headed when I
finally do get out of here.

Hi,
I'm thinking of dragging my husband out for some early morning
letterboxing here in sultry Houston, Texas. With heat close to (or
at) 100 degrees right now, very early morning is the best time to go
letterboxing. And, with the three-day weekend, it's a good
opportunity to get out and enjoy each day!
I'm thinking of carving a few stamps to plant, too. I've been working
pretty hard these past couple of months, and I may give myself a
three-day weekend as well.
Cheerfully,
Aisling

Hey my two 21 year olds just moved to Houston! But alas, they are not letterboxers. If you see two young men, one blond and one brown, wilting from the heat and talking real funny "youse guys" and "jeet?" (did you eat?) "no, ju?" (no, did you?) asking for wooder (water) and lookin' for love in all the wrong places, that's my boys!

I'm a displaced New Englander myself, grateful for a/c-on-steriods in

We're flying to Portland, Oregon tomorrow 'cause there's TONS of boxes in the
area, then attending the Silver Falls gathering. On to Eugene to visit
friends (and watch fireworks that will be good but NOT as good as the ones at
Disneyland where they've ruined us for ALL fireworks from now on).
Up the Oregon coast where we hope to spot one of Der Mad Stamper's photo
clues, and finally to Cape Disappointment to try to catch Count Olaf in the act,
(those poor, poor Baudelaire children!) before flying back to Calif. on the 9th.
All in the name of trying to reach F500. Think we'll do it?
Happy USA Day!

Hmm. Gotta work until 6. Then traditionally decide where to drive to for the fireworks--find parking, fight the crowds, suppress sibling squabbles, fight the traffic back out again. Maybe "proclaim liberty throughout the land" means I could be free to use those few hours of daylight for boxing instead!

When Mr. Irene lived in DE we went to Rockford Park off of Route 52. Best fireworks I've ever seen except for the ones at Penns Landing.

Spending the day with the family and then spending the night in the
airport. I was able to get a break away from beautiful downtown Galena
and spend some time at home, giving Rayvenmom a break from being a Mommy
all the time and I'll be departing on the evening of the 4th actually.
Since there is only one flight a day, in and out of galena, I have to
travel the night before to catch the 8:00 am flight in from Anchorage.
